Chanhassen Dinner Theater

This week I had the honor of going on a blogger tour of Chanhassen Dinner Theater. I had never been there before and we got a behind the scenes look at the main stage, wedding venues, try the food, and fancy drinks all while connecting with other bloggers. It was super cool.

I had no idea what to expect for an event like this. I felt a little like a fish out of water seeing other bloggers that I follow like there in real life. It was a super cool feeling.

We got to hear from Steve Patterson, one of the hosts from Twin Cities Live about the event and what to expect while sipping on a fancy cocktail. It is super cool that venues are choosing this avenue to advertise because they see the immense value in the relationships that bloggers have in their following.

The current show at Chanhassen is Mama Mia. It is there through February 2020. It is a very old school tradition that has made a huge come back of eating and drinking while watching a show. I know growing up the only thing you were offered at movie theaters were popcorn and candy. Now you can go and have a super high quality meal and adult beverages just about everywhere and the dinner theater era of the past has a huge role in that becoming a new trend. Chanhassen prides themselves on the experience. From the moment you walk through the doors you are greeted with smiling faces asking how they can help you. I am a huge advocate for awesome customer service and they have hit it out of the park.

We got to hear from the artistic director about how shows are picked, from the costume designer about how they have to stay within a super tight budget to make costumes for sometimes 200+ costumes per show. It was so interesting to learn about. There are just so many things you wouldn't necessarily think about as just a normal person going to a show. What happens when someone can't participate in a show? How do they adapt costumes to meet each actors needs? Are the actors local? Who designs the sets? How long to they rehearse before show time? (I promise you it's much shorter time frame than you think).

Then from the main stage we got to see a quick comedy act and sample some tasty appetizers.

After the show we got to head into the wedding spaces and see the beautiful spaces, enjoy some appetizers and delicious desserts, and listen to some live music from the Police cover band that is presently doing an engagement there. They were super good.

Seriously, a huge thank you to Chanhassen for hosting all of us bloggers. We had a great time and we can't wait to go back and see Mama Mia and experience the entire event!

Please check them out you guys! They have a full line up of amazing events on the docket for the holidays, so definitely snag your tickets early!
