Seattle Girls Weekend

Where do I begin with last weekend?

It’s always been a goal of ours since high school to do a girls weekend, but it just hasn’t ever worked. This trip was a blessing in disguise. We booked the tickets in March which was a huge low point in the break up and my emotional struggles. I didn’t feel like I had the money to go, so thank god for tax refunds. I did it.

I booked the ticket and paid for my air bnb and I was ready for this little Fourth of July getaway with Bailey, Courtney, and Katie.

This is realistically the first and last trip we’ll have before these lovelies have their own kiddos and families. So we did it.

Day 1

I flew in on the red eye and spent one night at a hotel before my squad arrived. A king size bed after 5 weeks on the futon feels like heaven!

Met them at the airport.

We took the train into Seattle and had lunch. Then traversed the city with our luggage to our Air BNB. Fun fact- Seattle is hella hilly. We learned that real quick.

Once we dropped our stuff off we hiked 1.5 miles to the Space Needle where Bailey used her major swooning skills to get us all in there for free. I had no idea what to expect. It was way cooler than I expected!

Day 2

We started our day early like 6:15am early and hit up one of the 428 Starbucks in downtown Seattle before we meandered to Biscuit Bitch. Legit one of the highlights of the trip. I am a solid sucker for biscuits and gravy. This place did not disappoint.

My recommendation- The Basic Bitch

Then we headed back to the Air BNB to get ourselves ready for the day. We then walked to Pike Place Market. Home of the flagship Starbucks (with a line over 4 blocks long), Flying Fish, and the best seafood chowder I've ever tasted.

It was like a farmers market on steroids. There's so much to see from all of the amazing vendors, food stands, and of course solid people watching.

We ate and shopped our way through.

Gum Wall

I didn't know what to expect with the gum wall. I guess maybe a single wall....well I was wrong. The entire ally is filled with tourists smacking away on gum so that they can make their contribution.

Pier 55

From the wall we explored some breweries and walked down Pier 55 and watched the boats, sight saw, and people watched.

Day 3

Late start

Starbucks

Seattle Center

I'd highly recommend going and checking out the old Armory. They turned it into essentially a gigantic food court and it was fun to try a whole bunch of different things all in one area.

Pioneer Square

Dinner on Pier 55 for authentic seafood dinner. I was honestly super disappointed in the meal we got and this place was recommended to us.

To cap off the trip Katie and I went back to the roastery and indulged in some of the most beautiful and tasty coffee treats I could've imagined. Starbucks has it figured out. The Roastery is a MUST if you are in the Seattle area. The staff is kind and always has smiles on their faces. They are super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The presentation and quality of the drinks we were served was sublime. This was one of my favorite parts of the trip.

Starbucks Roastery for Afogattos with Katie

I loved seeing all of the great street art and signage!

The trip was great! The laughs, the fun stories, and reminiscing our 9+ years of friendship. I'm glad that all of the pieces fit together and it worked for us to go! We couldn't have asked for anything better.

So here's to not waiting another 9 years to go on an adventure :)
